Tarte Flambée


What a perfect French lunch and so easy!


Ingredients:

250g Plain Flour

150ml tepid water

2 tablespoons olive oil

3g salt

160g smoked bacon lardons

200ml crème fraîche

1 onion, thinly sliced

250g grated cheese (we used mix of Gruyere and Emmental but either one is fine)

Nutmeg (freshly grated)



Method:

Preheat oven to hottest setting

Line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper

Kneed on a work surface, or we used our food processor and dough hook for 5 minutes.

Divide the dough into 2 and roll out really thin into a rectangular shape

Pan fry bacon lardons until crispy

Spread crème fraîche on both doughs leaving a rim around the edge

Sprinkle bacon lardons, onions, cheese & nutmeg on top

Bake for approx 10 minutes until cheese is bubbling and golden.

Serve with a green salad and French dressing.
